In a couple of days I'm going up to Nanaimo or down to Victoria to hit one of the Frontrunners stores to get a new pair of road shoes, and to get caught up to date on the local races coming up. I've well worn out my Asics Gel 1050's, and loved the shoe, though I doubt I'll find them there. Any ideas on what shoes might be a good idea to try or what the continuation of the 1050's might be? I'm a forefoot striker with no major flaws in my stride (such as over-pronation). I'd be running middle distance (5-12km) and I won't take them onto any really rough terrain, because I have another pair of shoes I use for that. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

You might want to try the new Nike Air Pegasus...for those with no biomechanical problems, it's a well liked shoe...

Hi Sean,

I bought a pair of them (Asics Gel 1050's) about 6 months ago and am quite happy with them, was wondering if anyone else ran in them and what they thought??. To answer your question I think the continuation of them is the 1060 range. Check out www.asics.com

Good luck

Last year, I switched off the 1050's for Mizuno Wave Alchemy's and couldn't be happier with them. I had run in Asics for many, many years, but the Mizuno's just are much more comfortable and supportive. I would definately try on a pair
