I've come to the realization that I need a softer shoe...10 years ago I ran in Nike Pegasuses & found them quite wonderful...any feedback on the current model would be much appreciated...

It has no similarities to old pegasus, other the the last. Pick one up and check out the midfoot support (ie.none at all), it has more similarities to a piece of chewing gum because of this. There are some runners who have had no problems with this shoe, but if i were you and you want nike, try the span triax, it has more similarities to old pegasus. Other good cushioning shoes are: - asics cumulus - adidas harmony - mizuno wave rider - asics nimbus

good luck padi q

I liked the old pegasus but finally gave up on nike. I moved to the ***** from pegasus, they discontinued it. I moved to the the yyy from the *****, they discontinued it. Give me a break. I tried asics, hated them. I tried the new balance 878 and wouldn't trade it for all the shoes nike makes in those chinese slave shops.

Does New Balance still make the 878 - I bought my last pair of them about 2 years ago (then stopped running for 18 months) - now its time to get some new shoes. they were my favorites ever and would like another pair. If they don't make it anymore, what replaced it? and is it as good?

They still make them and they are available from Road Runner Sports for something like $80 a pop. They have a website. I like them real well.
