My start is close to Rob's. Got to the JNAS at 0630 waited around till 0830 for the start. Ran 1000 feet to the first hurdle . A ditch 2 feet deep filled with water that you had to get in because there was wire over the top. Next was a forest of 3 foot poles that you had to crawl though if you knocked one down you had to do 10 push ups per pole. We ran to a wall 8 feet high that was caked with mud. Falling off and over we ran to 4 horizonal poles 2/3/4/5/ off the ground. Of course the best way was to just fall off the top of the poles. After that was a 'road' of cinder blocks that you had to run on top of about 8 feet wide and 100 feet long, Then came the tunnel of luv. A pipe filled with water waist high, 60 feet long , pitch black in the middle , you had to duck walk it by the time you got out your legs were spent. running up a hill and sliding down was the cargo net . Legs were pretty much on their way to being on fire. The log walk was next . 3 logs crossing a MUD PIT. BTW do not fall in. Then there was THE mud pit with of couse mud and water(some guy lost a boot in there)10x15x10. By this time no tape kept the water out. The last was the pole climb . It was a ladder 30 feet high with 2x4s as slats attached to telephone poles. Did i say that was the end? well that was mile 3 the -turn around- you had to do the whole couse back. We were in 4th place with the Plano police Dept. in 3rd. about 100 yards our team and their were yelling at each other and pointing 'we have to beat them'. Even though i was last over every obsticle i gutted it out and poured on the speed. It came down to Adam to one police officer. Adam crossed the finish line 4 feet ahead of the officer. Both breathing hard and running all out. It was a sight. Because of the that last amount of pain we got 3rd(last year we got 2nd) . 6 miles of pain for a life time of pride. See yall there next year.

Hey, Plodz, congrats on a great race. These mud runs sound like a lot of fun.

That is what it is all about, pride! Great job! I had to overcome a lot of pain this weekend and I am definitely proud that I came through it all.

It isn't all that. What's a good time for me to be running and what level of conditioning do you need?
