Any race reports or opinions on the GB marathon? Is it easy to get a hotel close to the start and finish, so my family can see me at both points? Also, is there a lot of events, or other attractions, related to the race?

I've run in Green Bay along the river from DePere to Allouez (?) and back in the beginning of August, and it was torture (hot, muggy). I doubt May is that way...

I didn't write a race report but I did the GB marathon this year. I did the half-marathon the year before and the four-miler (now 5K) the inaugural year.

Next year will be the first year it is run in May. This decision was made because of the extreme heat this year and the inaugural year.

It is a good, flat course with good support. The first year, we ran through Lambeau Field. In successive years, we didn't because of Stadium construction.

The half- and full-marathoners start together and run together until about the 7-mile point. Then the half-marathoners turn around while the full-marathoners continue. I think in previous years there were more half- than full- marathoners.

If you book now, it should be. Hotels downtown will probably fill up by spring. It is a loop course with start and finish near each other, in downtown Green Bay.

There's an expo and pasta dinner, what else were you looking for?

Sounds like the 2002 GB Marathon

I grew up in nearby Sturgeon Bay and May is generally much cooler. I'm doing Flying Pig in Cincinnati next year which is 2 weeks before Green Bay, so I won't be doing the full GB marathon next year. I may do the half or 5K, depending on how my recovery goes.
